In the Nigeria’s Mining Sector, Nigerians are encouraged, more especially, the youths, to throw our hats into the ring and start utilising the opportunities thereat. Today and tomorrow, some of those opportunities will be unveiled for you to determine whether you want to be consultant or Direct engagement in Mining as a Miner. At the consultancy level, the underlisted are huge openings that can be exploited by Nigerians because there is increasing demands for their services daily.
1. Huge openings abound for Nigerians that can be MINERAL TITLE ADMINISTRATION CONSULTANTS:
-Prospective investors for Exploration Licenses or Mining Leases must have geographic coordinates before they can proceed with their applications to the Mining Cadastral Office under the Ministry of Mines and Steel Development. Consultants, therefore, can collect geographic coordinates from the field for prospective investors using simple handheld tools like GPS.
– Professionals Geologists, Geophysists, Mining Engineers who are registered by the Council of Mining Engineers and Geoscientists (COMEG) are enjoined to join the fray by serving as technical competent persons.
-Again, professionals like Certified Land Surveyors should also come on board in order to be preparing survey plans needed as part of requirements for the issuance of the licenses.
-There is compulsory requirement for Environmental Impact Assessment or Environmental Audit when applying for Mining License. There are few persons that are accredited consultants in this regard. Population of Nigeria and the increasing number of applications for Minign License imply that there is equally, need for increased number of Nigerians who should register as accredited consultants with the Federal Ministry of Environment. Once you are registered, you will be qualified to be executing this aspect of registration requirement.
-There equally increasing need for that can be designing and developing Magazine Houses for safe storage of explosives used in Mining operations.
